What We Do
We don’t just build fish tanks — we build living ecosystems that educate, heal, and conserve.
At Symfiny, we fuse the art of aquaculture with the science of learning — transforming small glass boxes into closed-loop water worlds that children care for, day by day. Each tank becomes a miniature planet where curiosity, empathy, and responsibility take root.
Here’s how we create ripples of change:
Sustainable Aquaculture
We breed and raise 50+ native and ornamental freshwater species in zero-chemical, regenerative systems — proving that aquaculture can be beautiful, ethical, and sustainable.
Educational Design — Online + Offline
We craft immersive learning tools that bring the Waterkeeper experience to any classroom:
- Offline: Printed Waterkeeper workbooks, teacher manuals, visual charts and duty rosters — built for low-resource schools.
- Online: A full 12-week video curriculum, digital care guides, training modules, and interactive student resources for connected classrooms.
Emotional Wellbeing Support
Through daily observation rituals and mindful care, we help children slow down, focus, and feel — nurturing empathy, calm, and emotional regulation alongside academic growth.
Scientific Resources
We provide richly illustrated species profiles, care guides, and visual ecosystem charts that transform fishkeeping into hands-on STEM exploration — making science something children can see, touch, and protect.
Our Ecosystems
A tank is more than a container. It’s a community.
Each Symfiny tank models the balance of nature:
- Fish create organic waste
- Beneficial bacteria break it down
- Plants absorb the nutrients
- Clean, oxygen-rich water returns to the fish
Children experience the nitrogen cycle as something alive — not just theory.
Our Sustainable Practices
Conservation isn’t an add-on — it’s the design.
- Built from recycled drums, glass, and cement tanks
- Closed-loop water use systems that reduce consumption by up to 90%
- Natural aquatic plant filtration and composting
- Zero-chemical systems using beneficial bacteria
- Transitioning to solar-powered filtration and aeration
Children experience the nitrogen cycle as something alive — not just theory.
Our Readiness & Evaluation Plan
We are pilot-ready — and built to measure what matters.
Symfiny has developed a clear monitoring framework to ensure every school tank produces meaningful outcomes.
We will track:
- Of students and teachers participating
- Fish and plant health (survival & growth logs)
- Daily care consistency and observation quality
- Student learning outcomes (STEM understanding, care behaviours, reflection journals)
- Teacher feedback on student wellbeing (focus, calm, empathy)
This ensures our partners can see tangible educational and conservation impact from the first pilot onwards.
Alignment With Global & National Goals
We are proud to align with:
- National Water Mission — 20% water-use efficiency
- Jal Shakti Abhiyan / Catch the Rain — citizen water stewardship
- Atal Bhujal Yojana — groundwater literacy and community care
