FAQ'S
Questions We Hear Every Day
How many fish can I keep in my first tank?
Start with 6–8 small fish like guppies or tetras in a 40L tank. Add slowly, and remember: stable water is more important than a full tank.
Do I need a filter?
Yes — clean, moving water is the heart of a healthy aquarium. A gentle filter keeps your fish stress free and your tank clear.
How often do I feed fish?
2–3 small pinches a day. Only as much as they eat in 2 minutes — no leftovers on the bottom.
Do I need live plants?
Live plants aren’t required, but they help! Plants keep water cleaner, give fish hiding spots, and make tanks feel more natural.
Are Symfiny fish treated with chemicals?
No. We use natural methods, clean water, and prevention — not harsh chemicals.
How do I bring my new fish home safely?
Keep them in their bag for the trip, out of direct sunlight. Once home, float the sealed bag in your tank for 15–20 minutes to match the water temperature before releasing them.
What should I do if my water turns cloudy?
Don’t panic! This is common in new tanks. It usually clears up as your filter balances. Check that you’re not overfeeding and avoid adding more fish until it settles.
Can kids really take care of fish?
Absolutely. With guidance, children become excellent Waterkeepers. Fishkeeping teaches patience, empathy, and responsibility.
How often should I clean the tank?
Partial water change (20–25%) once a week is enough. Never wash everything at once — it’s about balance, not perfection.
Which fish should I avoid as a beginner?
Skip aggressive or large species like Oscars, Bettas (with other males), and Goldfish in small tanks. Start small and peaceful.
